Ukraine has received its first F-16 fighter jet trainer. Czechia transferred it to one of the tactical aviation brigades, says Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.

"Czechia has handed over the first F-16 fighter jet simulator to one of the tactical aviation brigades," he said.

According to him, the main module of the flight simulator is already being tested and prepared for operation by Ukrainian specialists.

"I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine strengthen its aviation. Of course, besides the F-16s, we need to create a powerful training and material base for our youth. I urge our allies to join this initiative," Oleshchuk said.

F-16 for Ukraine

After lengthy negotiations, Ukraine's allies have created an aviation coalition, marking an important step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities against Russian aggression.

Ukraine will receive F-16 fighters from the Netherlands, Denmark, and other partners. Ukrainian pilots are currently undergoing training on F-16s in coalition member states.

It is expected that the first F-16s will arrive in Ukraine with trained pilots and technical staff. It is not yet known when Ukraine will receive the aircraft. The partners hope it will happen in the summer or fall of this year.
