WhatsApp users can soon look forward to a new design. The messenger app is getting a completely new look, which should appear “fresher” and clearer overall. In addition, the dark mode will be even darker – a “super dark mode”, so to speak.
Over 35 different colours were considered for the new improved Dark Mode in order to achieve a particularly dark design that is easier on the eyes. However, there are no images of the new look yet.
WhatsApp 2024: New look on Android and iOS
The new look for the WhatsApp interface on Android is a different story. A new navigation bar has been added at the bottom of the screen to make searching easier. The new feature was previously rolled out on iOS devices to provide a better overview of chats and communities.
For iOS users, the sending of photos and videos has also changed thanks to a new layout for attachments. This is now displayed as an expandable bar in which all options for sending media, surveys and documents are more visible.
In addition, all icons in WhatsApp will look slightly different, slightly rounded and outlined. The default background in chats is also getting a makeover.
Thre are also “new illustrations with added animation to turn up the fun” so, overall, this is probably the biggest change to the look of the app since 2021.
Some users may have already received the new look of WhatsApp through an update. For everyone else, the design will probably be refreshed over the next few days.
