The enemy's morning attack on the Kharkiv region looks like a simulation of a large-scale offensive involving limited forces and reconnaissance in force, according to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
“The situation is under control by the Defense Forces. Currently, it looks like the enemy is imitating a large-scale offensive with limited forces and means, conducting reconnaissance in force. The Russians sustain losses in equipment and manpower,” said Kovalenko.
The head of the Center noted that the enemy's operation is also accompanied by information work from Russian war correspondents who “draw arrows” and report on the breakthrough of the forces. However, these fabrications are aimed at attempting to create panic and exploit the informational vacuum.
The current situation in the region
According to Kovalenko, the situation is complicated in some areas but controlled by Ukrainian soldiers. In the areas where the enemy has managed to advance, the Ukrainian soldiers are trying to repel the Russian forces.
"The situation may change, so it is important to trust official sources now. It is important for the enemy to create an information storm. Typically, during active operations, the situation on the ground changes many times during the day. The situation is dynamic, and only official sources have complete information," noted the head of the CCD.
Morning attack on Kharkiv region
Today, on May 10, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the enemy, under the cover of armored vehicles, tried to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. Throughout the day, the Russian forces carried out air strikes in the Vovchansk direction and intensified artillery pressure on the front line of defense. This information was later confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
