Roy Keane says one player at Tottenham has really concerned him recently under Ange Postecoglou

Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has now admitted there is one player at Tottenham Hotspur who is really concerning him.

Ange Postecoglou‘s men will take to the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the penultimate time this season on Saturday.

Tottenham are now in need of three points in their game against Burnley with Newcastle United quickly creeping up on them in fifth spot.

Europa League football is now the realistic goal over the final three games after four consecutive losses have all but put them out of the top four conversation.

That would still mark progression for Spurs, however, they will need to dramatically improve their performances from the last month.

Going into the game there is one specific player who the former Manchester United midfielder has shared his concerns over.

The Sky Sports man is never shy of announcing his opinion on television and he has now picked out a player who has arguably been one of Tottenham’s best players this season.

Roy Keane admits he’s not fully convinced by one player at Spurs

It has been a positive campaign for the Lilywhites after what was a season to forget under Antonio Conte last time out.

And there have been a number of players who have shown a lot of promise in what has been a turbulent campaign for Spurs.

Players like James Maddison and Yves Bissouma have seen their form massively fall off a cliff since the early stages of the season.

However, there have been players like Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario who have impressed for the large majority of the term.

And it is the Italian goalkeeper who the Irishman has admitted he is not fully convinced by after the 27-year-old’s struggles with set pieces.

Deadball situations have been a real issue for Tottenham this season and Vicario has been criticised for his lack of dominance inside his box.

Speaking on the Stick to Football show, Keane admitted the set piece vulnerability is concerning him when he predicted Saturday’s result.

“It’s a must-win game [for Burnley]. Could Burnley go down there and get something? Spurs were awful last week,” Keane said.

To which Ian Wright replied, “2-0 Spurs.”

“You think they keep a clean sheet? Set pieces… the goalkeeper…” Keane responded.

Tottenham have already asked PGMOL about protecting Guglielmo Vicario

There has clearly been an issue at Tottenham when it comes to defending set pieces this season.

Postecoglou has denied this and suggested that he does not see it as a major problem that needs addressing specifically.

However, the Australian has admitted that the club have now contacted the PGMOL about where they stand on protecting the Italian goalkeeper.

“You’re allowed to reach out to them. They’re not a hidden society. I’m sure all the clubs do. We seek clarification in case certain things have changed,” said Postecoglou.

“You never know. We just wanted some clarity on what the actual position is on interference on the goalkeeper.

“I’m ancient, mate, but I always thought that the goalkeeper was a bit of a protected species. Maybe that’s shifted now and I missed the memo.”
