Buddhist monk’s wise words

His monologue begins rather morbidly, saying you’re going to lose your mother, father, animals and humans that you love. It’s going to happen and there’s nothing you can do about it.

He also says you will lose money and people are going to hurt you. However, rather than being sad about this, we should accept it, which will help us to live a happier life.

“The world is just the way that it is,” he continues. “But knowing this. Preparing yourself. Learning the right ways or useful ways that are developing yourself physically and mentally.”

“To be able to walk through this lifetime, that’s possible. That is something that’s available to us. It’s just you need to get rid of those fantasies that better times are going to come.”

He explains that we can’t wait for better times to come, when the world will be completely at peace, because it’s not realistic. We have to create those better times ourselves.

‘Powerful words’

TikTok users are moved by his “powerful words,” which are changing the way people think about life.

“He’s absolutely right, we constantly stress over things that we have no control over,” one person said.

Another wrote: “Every man has two lives. The second one begins the moment he realises he only has one.”

“When I finally understood that all of us suffer and loose people, I found compassion and it changed my life,” someone else added.

Benefits of being optimistic

His testimony is all about being optimistic, which involves having a positive outlook on the world and trusting that good things will happen.

This can have a number of benefits in life, including confidence, decreased risk of illness, better quality of life and a longer lifespan, Verywell Mind explains.

One study from the University of Pittsburgh found that women who had an optimistic outlook in life had a 30% lower risk of heart disease.

It can improve your mental health and relieve depression symptoms too, while also improving your sleep quality.

To practice optimism, you need to avoid negativity, cultivate positivity, always be grateful and imagine a positive future.
