The Baltic countries consider their common goal to be the victory of Ukraine in the war against Russian occupiers, according to a statement by Baiba Braže, the Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

She emphasized that Ukrainian defenders have the right to strike at objects on the territory of Russia that are used by the occupiers to attack Ukrainian territory. This is allowed within the framework of international law.

"Ukraine is the priority for all Baltic countries, and the victory of Ukraine is a common goal for all of us," the minister added.

According to her, Latvia, as well as other Baltic and Northern European countries, "must be far-sighted and coordinated" to strengthen their security in the face of manifestations of hybrid warfare from Russia.

Assistance from the Baltic countries

Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have been among Ukraine's key allies since the onset of full-scale invasion. Despite their small size, these countries have been providing Ukraine with weaponry and financial aid.

Recently, Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine. It includes anti-aircraft guns, drones, and more.

Each year, Latvia allocates 0.25% of its GDP for assistance to Ukraine.
