'Being honest': PL boss admits Tottenham target will now 'probably' leave his club this summer

Marco Silva has shared whether Tosin Adarabioyo is likely to still be with Fulham next season, with Tottenham Hotspur amongst the clubs keen to sign the centre-back on a free transfer.

Tosin Adarabioyo‘s future at Craven Cottage has more than a question mark hanging over it right now, with the 26-year-old out of contract at the end of the season.

Adarabioyo has actually been left out of the last two Fulham squads in the Premier League, perhaps hinting that Silva’s men are preparing for life after the former Manchester City defender.

Tottenham are planning to step up their interest in Adarabioyo in the summer should he become a free agent. Meanwhile, Newcastle are also keen on signing Adarabioyo.

“There’s been a lot of noise around Tosin. Being honest, it’s really difficult to renew with him. Probably at the end of the season he’s going to leave the club. Not 100%, but probably it’s going to happen,” he said.

Why Newcastle need to secure defender’s signature more than Tottenham

In this era where clubs are so wary of overspending on transfer fees, players such as Adarabioyo are probably particularly appealing as they are set to be available at the end of their contracts.

Tottenham have overhauled their centre-back options in the last year, with Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin coming in to play with Cristian Romero.

Newcastle meanwhile, have been desperately unlucky with centre-back injuries of late, and they will definitely need to strengthen in that position over the summer.

Of course, the owners have the means to spend so much more money, but they have had to show restraint since coming in.

So signing someone like Adarabioyo makes a lot of sense for the Magpies. And it seems that Silva is now preparing for his defender to leave.
