Some early betting trends are starting to trickle in for the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award following the draft a few weeks back.
Dave Mason of BetOnline — not the Pink Floyd drummer — posted some figures on which upcoming offensive rookies have the best odds for that ROY award, plus which players are getting the most action. For starters, Mason notes that, as the 2-1 favorite to win the award, No. 1 overall pick and new Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is one of the most-bet players to win it. Meanwhile, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix and J.J. McCarthy join Williams as the players who have received the most Rookie of the Year bets so far.
Mason also noted guys who are “top liability” for the sports books, meaning players with some longer odds who are still getting a lot of action and stand to set the books back by quite a bit if they end up cashing in. Per Mason, these longer shots are getting a decent chunk of change on them:

Ladd McConkey (25-1)
Jonathan Brooks (33-1)
Fans might see some major value in Brooks, the longest shot on this list, who was the first running back off the board this year but didn’t go until the 46th overall pick in the second round after two RBs went No. 8 and No. 12 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
However, neither player was competitive in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race last year as CJ Stroud ran away with it. But younger running backs do tend to get a ton of carries early on, and if none of the QBs wow voters, Brooks could put up strong enough numbers to take the honor.
