'He is some player': Sky Sports pundit blown away by £38m Liverpool target's performance today

Liverpool have a number of potential transfer targets this summer and one of them has seriously impressed in Premier League action today.

The Reds are looking forward to a new era as Arne Slot comes in to replace the departing Jurgen Klopp.

Slot will, no doubt, have some players in mind who he’d like to bring in and it will be interesting to see how FSG and Michael Edwards go about things this summer.

Of course, new signings will happen. But quite who those new signings will be, remains to be seen.

One player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool is West Ham winger, Mohammed Kudus.

The former Ajax man has had a super first Premier League season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

And after laying on an assist for West Ham youngster George Earthy today, Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison was seriously impressed.

Clinton Morrison impressed by Liverpool target Mohammed Kudus

Speaking about Kudus setting up West Ham’s goal against Luton today on Sky Sports, Morrison admitted to being mega impressed with the Ghanaian.

“It’s Kudus, it’s all about Mohammed Kudus. He is some player, by the way. He just beats two or three, goes into the box, cuts it back and Earthy gets across the defender and puts it into the bottom corner,” Morrison said.

Liverpool could trigger release-clause to sign Kudus

That’s according to a report from GiveMeSport last week , anyway.

Journalist Dean Jones suggested in that report that should Mo Salah leave, then Kudus could well be a player who the Reds look to sign.

“It’s very difficult to get a clear gauge on the terms of any release clause that is in the contract as no one involved is really confirming anything. The foundations of the story seem concrete so my hunch is to believe that there is a trigger figure involved somewhere along the line,” Jones said.

“It’ll be interesting to find out what the level of it is and when it kicks in. If it is reasonable then you can imagine he might open up as a potential target for Liverpool, if Salah does end up leaving after all.”

Based on today’s performance and praise from Morrison, it looks like Kudus could indeed make the step up to a club like Liverpool.

And if that release clause is around the £38m West Ham paid, then it could well be a bargain.
