A People's Postcode Lottery player has been left fuming after he was handed a disappointing "consolation prize" instead of a winning cheque.
Chris Cork, from Manchester, had played the lottery for eight years - so when his postman dropped by to deliver a People's Postcode Lottery-branded parcel, he thought his life was about to change.
Cork, who runs a TikTok account boasting over 160,000 followers and five million "likes", said opening the parcel had him dreaming about the lifestyle a lottery win would give him.
In a video - which has reached 64,000 likes and counting, he said: "I am a People's Postcode Lottery WINNER... Well I thought I was!!!"
Cork continued: "I've been doing the People's Postcode Lottery for eight years.
The postman just knocked on my door, gave me this, which is quite big. Sealed. I thought I've f*****g done it - I've won a lot of money.
"Looked out the door to see if there was a camera crew there or [Danyl Johnson] was there, nobody was there. I thought it [the letter] says 'share your win'.
"As I peeled that back, a little bit of excitement creeps in - I thought this could be a cheque. If you look at the size of that, it looks like a cheque could be in there!"

But Cork's prize was not, in fact, a cheque - it wasn't even a cash reward.
"You will never guess what I have won," he added.
"Congratulations. You've won a f*****g handmade soaps. I mean, they don't even smell nice.
"F*** sake! Why do you need that for two little soaps?
"I played it eight years and they've never, ever done anything like that. Soaps or anything.
I went from a cheque - a couple of grand - to two f*****g soaps that are going to go in the bin."
One of the soaps - which sported British Red Cross branding - was called "inspiration" and was scented with "sweet orange, lavender and rosemary", while the other was called "humanity" and boasted notes of rose and patchouli.
Social media users chimed in to lament Cork's prize - and regaled tales of their own similar disappointments.
One said: "I won a BBQ utensil - I didn’t have a BBQ so then I went out and bought one. I was down -£200 - FML!"
Another added: "I won two pairs of socks made from recycled fishing nets," while one more claimed a friend had received five tea bags from the draw.
