This past week, Kyle Larson made the trip out to Paris, France. He and his family saw Taylor Swift in concert, but he’s not a Swiftie. The NASCAR driver is used to flying all over America, but he took it a bit further this time around.

Kyle Larson was in Paris for a small family vacation. It was his daughter’s birthday and the Larsons went to watch Taylor Swift live in concert. Larson wore a shirt and some bracelets that his wife gave him, but he’s just a casual fan.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver talk to the media at Darlington this weekend. The Swift concert came up during his time at the podium.

When asked if he was a “Swiftie” by The Athletic‘s Jordan Bianchi, Larson had a fun answer.

“Good question. No, I feel like a Swiftie, you gotta wear the bedazzled everything,” Larson said. “And, so no, I don’t feel like I’m a Swiftie at all. I do appreciate her music and how hard she works. But no, I’m not a Swiftie. There were lots of men dressed very uniquely at that concert, and I had the T-shirt and [my wife] gave me a couple friendship bracelets to put on, so that was as close as I was getting.”

Kyle Larson, fresh off his historic win at Kansas, flew out to Paris. Then came back for the NASCAR weekend and of course, his High Limit Racing series has action this week. To put it simply, Larson is a busy man.

It’s a wonder that Larson wasn’t able to find a way to race something while in Paris. No go-kart tracks out there? Perhaps a practice run in a McLaren F1 car? The fact he was able to go somewhere and NOT race is impressive.

So, Larson isn’t a Swiftie, but he was smart enough not to say anything bad about them. There are few online fandoms you want to avoid upsetting at all costs. The Swifties could be on the top of that list.

Kyle Larson made it back to the States for Darlington Throwback Weekend. Coming off that Kansas win, Larson is hoping to get another 1.5-mile victory under his belt. Darlington is a tough track for any driver, even one as talented as Larson.

Good news is, there are few that can run the wall like Yung Money. So, he will have an advantage over a majority of the field just for his knack to get the most out of running the high side. Expect him to have a Darlington stripe at the end of Sunday’s race.
