'He is some player': Clinton Morrison blown away by £90k-a-week West Ham ace v Luton today

West Ham United gave manager David Moyes the best possible send-off in his final home game in charge of the Hammers on Saturday.

West Ham came from behind to run out 3-1 winners over Luton Town and all-but condemn the Hatters to relegation from the Premier League.

Albert Sambi Lokonga opened the scoring for the visitors after six minutes, heading in Alfie Doughty’s cross from the left.

West Ham trailed at the break, but equalised nine minutes after the restart as James Ward-Prowse found the bottom corner following good work from Jarrod Bowen.

Tomas Soucek then volleyed the Hammers in front in the 65th minute, before 19-year-old George Earthy scored his debut goal for the club with his first touch on 76 minutes.

Mohamed Kudus played a big part in Earthy’s goal, making a great run to the right byline and pulling back for his teammate to tap home from close range.

Mohamed Kudus plays big part in West Ham win over Luton

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison loved what he saw from Kudus, singing his praises on Sky Sports News.

“It’s Kudus, it’s all about Mohammed Kudus,” he said on Soccer Saturday (11/5/2024, 4:38pm). “He is some player, by the way.

“He just beats two or three, goes into the box, cuts it back and Earthy gets across the defender and puts it into the bottom corner.”

Admittedly, Kudus’ display on the day was somewhat mixed.

The £90,000-a-week ace missed a great opportunity in the second half and spurned a few other chances, but his movement was good and he provided great service to his teammates.

All in all, Kudus has been a superb signing for West Ham, and it’ll be exciting to see how he kicks on next season.
