Canada will participate in the first Global Peace Summit to be held in June in Switzerland, states Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"The First Peace Summit for Ukraine is in June - and Canada will be there. I look forward to joining other world leaders to advance our shared goal of just and lasting peace for Ukraine," he wrote.

Global Peace Summit

This year, for the first time, a high-level summit dedicated to Ukraine's peace program will be held. Ukraine has invited over 150 countries to participate in this event.

It is expected that the summit will present the Ukrainian peace formula, which provides for the de-occupation of all Ukrainian territories, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the prosecution of those responsible for war crimes.

It is important to note that Kyiv does not plan to invite Russia to the first summit. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that Russia's participation is possible only at the second meeting under this model. This decision is based on the fact that Russia has not yet demonstrated its readiness for a sincere dialogue and peaceful settlement.
