Israel has ordered the evacuation of Palestinians in numerous neighborhoods in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, reports Reuters.

According to the agency, the Palestinians were ordered to evacuate to the so-called humanitarian zone of Al-Mawassi. This is probably the way the Israeli Defense Forces are implementing their plan for a ground attack on Rafah.

Moreover, residents of the Jabaliya area in the northern Gaza Strip were also called to evacuate. Allegedly, Hamas militants are returning there to regain control of the area.

War in Israel

Last fall, Hamas militants attacked Israel, resulting in casualties and kidnappings of people and soldiers. In response, Tel Aviv launched a military operation in the Gaza Strip to completely destroy the movement.

Recently, attention has been focused on Israel's plans to launch an assault on the city of Rafah. Tel Aviv's intentions are causing concern not only among its allies but also among its critics. According to The Washington Post, the United States is trying to prevent an invasion of the city, and in this regard, it is offering Israel secret intelligence and assistance in locating Hamas leaders.
