Tottenham talent already eyed for swift exit, Spurs will demand £40m after agent comments

Tottenham Hotspur pulled off something of a coup in January, convincing Radu Dragusin to snub Bayern Munich for a move to London.

Tottenham fans were given a rare glimpse of defender Radu Dragusin in action against Burnley.

The Romanian came off the bench to play at centre back alongside Cristian Romero with Micky van de Ven moving over to left back.

Dragusin helped Tottenham secure a 2-1 victory, ending a four-game losing run in the process.

Tottenham snapped up Dragusin in January, landing the Genoa man as competition for Romero and Van de Ven.

Breaking up that partnership has proven difficult so far though and Dragusin has only managed two Premier League starts to date.

Perhaps the turnaround against Burnley will tempt Ange Postecoglou to start Dragusin against Manchester City in midweek.

The 22-year-old would no doubt love to land another start before the season ends – especially with Euro 2024 on the horizon.

Napoli want Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin

One man Tottenham fans know just about as well as Dragusin is his agent, Florin Manea.

Manea talked a lot in the media before Dragusin finalised his move to Tottenham and he hasn’t really stopped since the deal was done.

Just last week, Manea was quoted as saying that Tottenham would be better off playing with a three-man defence in order to accommodate Dragusin.

Manea even suggested that he and Dragusin may need to think of ‘other solutions’ if he doesn’t start playing more for Tottenham.

The notion of a swift exit left Tottenham fans puzzled but one rumour suggests that there is interest in his signature.

The Sun claim that Napoli are keen to land Radu Dragusin and offer him a rapid return to Italian football.

Napoli wanted Dragusin in January but missed out to Tottenham and their interest has not disappeared.

It’s suggested that Tottenham do not want to sell but could listen to offers of around £40million – around double the price Spurs paid just a few months ago.

Napoli’s Serie A title defence has been an absolute disaster but it would surely take the sale of players like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in order for them to spend so much on one player.

Dragusin knew what he signed up for at Tottenham

Dragusin’s possible frustration is understandable; he was playing regularly for Genoa but is now struggling for minutes at Tottenham.

That would be less-than-ideal in any situation, but he needs to be sharp for Romania’s Euro 2024 campaign.

A summer exit would be a real shocker though and Dragusin ultimately knew what he was getting himself into when he joined Spurs.

Postecoglou had settled on a superb centre back pairing of Romero and Van de Ven; any centre back coming in would find it difficult to get into the side over either of them.

Tottenham wanted a young, talented centre back who could offer strong competition for both players and settled on Dragusin.

Postecoglou surely didn’t promise a starring role at Tottenham, but more that respective suspension and injury fears over Romero and Van de Ven mean opportunities could come along.

Those chances have been hard to come by but Dragusin hasn’t even been at Tottenham for six months.

A return to Italy this summer would be incredibly knee-jerk and Dragusin would be wise to keep pushing at Tottenham, especially with a first Spurs pre-season campaign on the horizon.
