A 34-year-old who got into a pub row on Christmas Eve called somebody he was drinking with a “b**ch”.
Peter Rowles, of The Causeway in Stow Bridge, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he admitted using threatening language to cause alarm or distress.
Prosecutor Lesla Small said that the incident took place at The Heron at Stow Bridge on Christmas Eve, when Rowles was drinking with friends at the pub.
An argument broke out between Rowles and a woman he was drinking with.
“Rowles was intoxicated and there was a confrontation, he was quite aggressive and volatile,” said Ms Small.
Police were called and arrived at the scene and arrested Rowles.
He was interviewed by officers, where he confessed that he called the victim a b**ch.
By committing this offence, Rowles put himself in breach of a community order placed on him in December 2022.
He appeared unrepresented in court and gave personal reasons why December is a particularly hard time for him.
“I wasn’t in the right frame of mind, I probably had too much to drink. I did then leave but I got arrested at home,” Rowles said.
For the offence, magistrates fined him £100 and ordered that he pay a victim surcharge of £40 and court costs of £85.
