Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 12: Almost 1300 troops and 30 artillery systems

Ukrainian defense forces have eliminated an additional 1260 Russian troops in the past day, bringing the total losses of the Russian army in personnel since the beginning of the full-scale invasion to approximately 482,290 soldiers, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to May 12, 2024, are estimated as follows:

  • personnel - approximately 482,290 (+1260) individuals eliminated;
  • tanks - 7,454 (+5) units;
  • armoured personnel vehicle - 14,375 (+22) units;
  • artillery systems - 12,472 (+30) units;
  • MLRS - 1,066 (+2) units;
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems - 797 (+1) units;
  • aircraft - 350 (+1) units;
  • helicopters - 325 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 9,910 (+42) units ;
  • cruise missiles - 2,194 (+1) units;
  • warships/boats - 26 units;
  • submarines - 1 unit;
  • vehicles & fuel tanks - 16,819 (+64) units;
  • special equipment - 2,042 (+2) units.

Frontline situation

On May 10th, Russian terrorists intensified their advance in the border areas of the Kharkiv region. During the attack, the enemy attempted to breach the defense of our fighters. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, defensive operations are ongoing in the vicinity of the villages of Strilecha, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliinykove, Lukyantsi, Hatyshe, and Pletenivka.

Meanwhile, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have revealed the enemy's objectives in trying to capture Vovchansk.
