'Joining the People's Channel was the best career decision I have ever made' - Keith Bays

I first joined GB News two years ago today on May 9th, 2022, and joining the People’s Channel was the best career decision I have ever made.

When I first accepted a job at GB News I was taking a huge gamble, I was moving over 300 miles from my native North-East with my wife and children, to accept the role of an Assistant Producer at a start-up company. The stakes were high.

I wanted to join GB News because I believed in the vision that the business had set out right from the off, GB News was billed as the ‘voice for the voiceless' which really struck a chord with me.

Having lived in the North-East and seen for myself how many mainstream outlets had avoided covering stories that that really mattered to people in my region, I knew it was Important to have a channel like GB News and importantly for it to be successful.

In the time I have been working at the channel, it has grown from strength to strength, in large part due to the efforts of the fantastic staff, and brilliant senior management team at the channel who are all laser focused on delivering the best content for our viewers and covering stories that are important to everyone.

There can be no better example of that than when Nigel and his team covered the debanking scandal, taking on the banks and sticking up for many Brits who had experienced the same problems that Nigel had himself endured.

And, when the supremely talented Camilla Tominey Interviewed broadcasting legend Alastair Stewart to discuss his Alzheimer's diagnosis a condition that impacts so many, she conducted the Interview with great sensitivity and class.

It is moments like these that make me realize that I have made the right decision, and that the sacrifices made to move my family over 300 miles are worth it. The juice was worth the squeeze.

The Channel is often given a hard time by the elite, the mainstream media and those keyboard warriors that have nothing better to do on their Saturday nights other than have a go at a channel that is working hard for the British people and to be that voice for those people out there that have for such a long time been ignored.

Since I first walked through the door into the green room at Paddington and hearing the dacite tones of Christine Hamilton on my first day, the channel has come on leaps and bounds, it’s a pleasure to work for the People’s channel a business that is driven on doing the best to speak up for all nations of our United Kingdom.

It’s been two amazing years; I look forward to helping GB News become Britain’s number one news channel in the coming years.
