Arteta now confident 'really dangerous' Arsenal star can return to his best next season

Mikel Arteta is reportedly confident one Arsenal star can return to his best next season after a difficult few months on the pitch.

The Gunners are set a big transfer window with a number of high-profile players expected to be moved on to bring in the funds needed to make new signings, with Arteta reportedly interested in bringing in a midfielder to partner Declan Rice.

With Thomas Partey believed to be wanted by the likes of Galatasaray, it already appears that some star players won’t be saved from the chop if a convincing enough offer was to come Arsenal’s way this summer.

However, one name linked with a move will seemingly remain despite ongoing rumours.

Arteta confident he can get Gabriel Jesus back into form with Arsenal

According to the Mirror, Arsenal and Arteta are keen to keep hold of Gabriel Jesus with the hope that the Brazilian international can return to his best after a disappointing year for the striker.

Recently lauded by Harry Kane as a ‘really dangerous’ attacker, Jesus’ form has been poor for Arsenal this season, with the striker only managing eight goals and eight assists in all competitions after an impressive first year in north London.

With the likes of Atletico Madrid and Saudi Arabian clubs reportedly interested in signing Jesus, there has been a growing feeling amongst Arsenal fans that selling the 27-year-old attacker this summer could be for the best.

However, it now seems clear that Arsenal and Arteta are intent on keeping Jesus in north London, who after a full summer of rest could come back a brand-new player for the Gunners.

Keeping Jesus is a risk that could pay off big time for Arteta

Jesus’ form in the first half of last season was nothing short of electric, with the former Manchester City man looking like the player who could lead Arsenal’s frontline for years to come.

Since then, though, injuries have seen Jesus become a shadow of his former self, yet with Arteta set on keeping the forward and getting him back to his best, such a revelation could be massive for Arsenal.

After all, Jesus when fit and in form is one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League, and Arsenal could be wise in their new plan to try and get the best out of the Brazilian one more time.
