There are going to be a few changes made at Liverpool this summer. With a new manager coming in, and new coaching staff, it’s only natural.

Especially since this will also be the first window, with Michael Edwards back at the helm and Liverpool’s new sporting director, Richard Hughes. Not to mention Julian Ward also returning to take part of a stellar looking backroom team.

Together, they will look to orchestrate another successful window for the Reds. This should see a few new faces coming to Anfield this summer.

Teun Koopmeiners on Liverpool’s transfer radar

One player who Liverpool have been linked with recently is Teun Koopmeiners. The Dutchman has been on the club’s radar since Edwards’ first spell at Liverpool.

He’s someone who has grown and developed over the years, and even caught the eye against Liverpool in the Europa League earlier this season.

On top of that, he’s also someone who the club’s likely new manager, Arne Slot, knows very well having worked with him at AZ Alkmaar.

Now, according to Tutto Juve, it’s Slot, who could be a determining factor in Liverpool winning the race for Koopmeiners, with a host of other clubs also in the race for his signature.

What was Teun Koopmeiners like under Arne Slot? And how much would he cost?

According to reports, Atalanta value Koopmeiners at around £51m. That seems a reasonable price for a player of his quality.

Under Slot, Koopmeiners also enjoyed one of the best spells of his career. He played in a deep lying midfield role and was key to making AZ a successful team with Slot at the helm.

In total, he scored 21 goals and registered seven assists in 58 matches under Slot.
