'If it's not Messi': MLS expert shares why Inter Miami now look unbeatable

MLS expert Andrew Wiebe has shared why Inter Miami keep winning games and now look almost unbeatable.

The Herons made it five wins in a row last night in a 3-2 victory against CF Montreal, with Inter Miami again having to come from behind to secure all three points having gone down 2-0 in the opening half.

A sensational free-kick from Matias Rojas followed by goals from Luis Suarez and Benjamin Cremaschi, though, saw Inter Miami claim the win as Lionel Messi endured a frustrating night in Canada against a tough Montreal side.

And Wiebe has now highlighted why Inter Miami just can’t seem to lose games.

Inter Miami’s quality and mentality is too much for MLS teams

Speaking on MLS Wrap-Up, the pundit noted that opposing teams are not going the extra mile to put the nail in the coffin against Inter Miami, who even at 2-0 down yesterday against Montreal always looked like coming back.

Indeed, whilst Inter Miami have walked a thin line in some games, there’s no doubt that there seems to be a certain inevitability when it comes to their current form, with the Herons looking unstoppable.

Wiebe said: “Montreal were the better team in this match, but as we found out over and over, you can play better than Inter Miami, you can have the run of the game 95% of the time, but all it takes is that 5%.

“It’s the quality they have and the confidence they have that the quality they have will come to the fore, and even if it’s not Messi, it’s Suarez, it’s Rojas, it’s Cremaschi, there is a laundry list of game-changers waiting to step up and to be the guy on any given day.”

Inter Miami have to learn from Montreal scare

Whilst Inter Miami managed to get the job done in Quebec, the Florida franchise again had to come from behind to secure the win, a factor that has happened in every single one of their five victories on the spin.

Outscoring teams and flexing their attacking quality has been key in Inter Miami keeping this winning streak alive, yet lessons need to be learned at the back, where the Herons just can’t keep a lid on things.

With some big games coming up, Inter Miami need to shore up their structure at the back if they’re to keep this winning run alive, and this latest scare against Montreal must serve as a lesson.
