Report: Liverpool have now entered the race to sign the next Dominik Szoboszlai this summer

Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign another player who could follow in Dominik Szoboszlai’s footsteps this summer.

Liverpool are bracing themselves for an exciting summer, and a summer of change. Behind the scenes, there’s going to be a new coaching staff coming in to work under Arne Slot.

Meanwhile, the club will have an entirely new recruitment and boardroom team led by Michael Edwards, who will also be joined by the likes of Richard Hughes, Julian Ward and Pedro Marques.

Their goal will be to build Liverpool’s future as FSG will look to eye a new multi-club system, which will involve the purchase of another football club.

Liverpool’s transfer latest on Dani Olmo

But just because things are changing doesn’t mean Liverpool cannot return to old tricks. One of the oldest now in the book has been the club’s constant targeting of Red Bull players.

From Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino to Ibrahima Konate and last time around Dominik Szoboszlai. Over the years, the Reds have turned to Red Bull time and time again to bring in new players.

And according to Spanish publication Sport, that might not change this summer either. The site claims that Liverpool are reportedly interested in Spanish international, Dani Olmo.

Who is Dani Olmo?

Olmo has had a bit of an interesting career path. He came through the youth system at Barcelona’s academy before joining Dinamo Zagreb.

Olmo caught the eye in Croatia and ultimately moved to RB Leipzig, where he has made over 100 appearances in the Bundesliga.

This season, he has nine goal contributions in 21 Bundesliga games, and he could be a good fit for Arne Slot’s system at Liverpool, who tends to prefer using more attacking minded midfielders of Olmo’s ilk.
