5 things we learned as Man Utd lose to Arsenal, including 3 reasons for optimism

Here are two things we learned and two reasons to be optimistic despite Manchester United losing to Arsenal in the Premier League…

We learned that Casemiro’s disastrous spell continues

The veteran Brazilian may have had his worst game in his career on Monday night when Manchester United were absolutely destroyed by Crystal Palace, and it didn’t exactly get much better against the Gunners.

The Brazilian was 100% at fault for the Leandro Trossard strike, failing to run back into position quickly enough, which played Kai Havertz miles onside.

If he is to be sold in the summer, he’s ending his tenure at Manchester United in disastrous fashion.

We learned that Rasmus Hojlund continues to struggle

It’s getting a little worrying for Rasmus Hojlund now. He just can’t get into games whatsoever. The Danish forward was made to look particularly amateurish against William Saliba and Gabriel – who were both immense.

The 21-year-old needs to start firing again soon. His confidence looks absolutely shot.

Optimism: Alejandro Garnacho looked very bright

Manchester United have been starved of goals, but Alejandro Garnacho’s performance shows the chances are there to be created.

The dazzling Argentine definitely is a huge player for Manchester United in the future, and once he sorts out the decision-making – he’s set to be a world-beater.

Optimism: The shape looked a lot better

The first reason for optimism, Manchester United’s shape against Arsenal looked miles better. Mikel Arteta’s side have been absolutely walking over teams in the Premier League this season, scoring goals for fun. Erik ten Hag’s tactics made sure that didn’t happen.

Sofyan Amrabat actually made a big difference in the midfield, although we don’t think it’ll exactly persuade United to sign him permanently in the summer.

Optimism: The season is nearly over…

A sad second reason for optimism, but it’s true. The quicker this season concludes, the quicker Manchester United can prepare for the next. But best believe there is a lot of work to be done.
