Report: Tottenham have just accepted an offer for their 'phenomenal' player with multiple clubs keen

Tottenham look like they’re making early progress with their summer plans and have accepted an offer for one of their home-grown talents.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is eager to get to work this summer on strengthening his squad.

Part of the overhaul means a number of players are going to have to leave the club and a number of first-teamers are on the chopping block going into the summer.

Of course, there are two games remaining in the Premier League season and results to be got.

But according to reports, Tottenham have already accepted a bid from Millwall for their 25-year-old defender Japhet Tanganga.

Tottenham accept Japhet Tanganga bid but personal terms not done just yet

According to a report from The Mirror, Tottenham have accepted a bid from the Lions to sell Tanganga after his successful loan spell in the Championship this season.

It’s reported how Tanganga now needs to agree personal terms with Neil Harris’ side ahead of completing the move.

However, nothing is a certainty just yet and it’s suggested there are other clubs in the mix to sign Tanganga now that offer has been accepted.

There is no mention of a fee involved or who those other clubs may be. But with the likes of Sheffield United and Luton going back into the second-tier, it would not be a surprise to see clubs of that stature sniffing.

Tanganga needed a fresh start

Sometimes in football, things just don’t work out as well as you’d hope and it gets to a time where you simply have to move on.

For Japhet Tanganga, that time has clearly come and at 25, he needs a permanent home where he’s going to be playing regular football.

Millwall were obviously a good club for him last season but given they’re at the lower end of the pay scales in the Championship, it will be interesting to see who else is in the mix.

If one of the big boys or a recently relegated side does come in, then Tanganga might think twice about a move to the Den.

Certainly, Championship sides will be keen on a player once lauded as a player with ‘phenomenal’ assets by The Athletic.
