Actor Steve Buscemi Attacked in New York City: Reports

Movie and TV star Steve Buscemi was the victim of a random attack in New York City.

Buscemi, 66, was on 3rd Ave. in Kips Bay Wednesday when a man walked up and attacked the "Boardwalk Empire" star, according to WABC-TV.

He went to Bellevue Hospital with bleeding, bruising and swelling.

"Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city," Buscemi's publicist confirmed to the New York Post.

"He is ok and appreciates everyone's well wishes, though incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to while also walking the streets of New York."

Buscemi is a New York native and was an FDNY firefighter before he got his break as an actor.

Another "Boardwalk Empire" actor was recently attacked in Manhattan.

On March 31, a homeless man attacked actor Michael Stuhlbarg in Central Park.

Stuhlbarg suffered a small bruise and said he didn't need any medical attention, according to the NYPD. An arrest was made in that case.

Buscemi's attacker was still on the loose.
