Jurgen Klopp could hand 'phenomenal' Liverpool youngster a big opportunity vs Aston Villa - opinion

There’s a ‘phenomenal’ youngster who Jurgen Klopp could hand a big opportunity to against Aston Villa.

The time to say goodbye to Jurgen Klopp is closely creeping up on everyone. There’s now just six days and two games left until the end of his reign.

The penultimate game of his Liverpool career will see the Reds travel to Aston Villa on Monday night. It’s a game that has little at stake for either side.

Liverpool is guaranteed to finish in third placed in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Aston Villa also look certain to finish in the top four and secure that Champions League qualification over Tottenham.

Why Klopp could hand Kaide Gordon an opportunity

With the game having such little at stake for both teams, this could be an opportunity for some of the club’s youngsters to get some minutes in the first team.

One of those could be Kaide Gordon, who has been regularly training with the first team this season and who was not involved in Liverpool U21’s game against Tottenham on Sunday.

His absence would suggest he was instead travelling with the first team squad to take on Aston Villa. And if that is the case, it’s a well-deserved opportunity for the exciting young winger.

How good is Kaide Gordon?

Gordon has missed over a year of football due to injury problems related to his growth. But since he’s come back into the academy set-up, he’s been brilliant.

In his last 12 games for Liverpool’s U21 side, Gordon has eight goal contributions. Meanwhile, he’s also played two games for Klopp’s first team against Bournemouth in the Premier League and Southampton in the FA Cup.

He’s been described as ‘phenomenal’ for his U21 performances this season and he certainly has the talent to make it at Liverpool. Against Aston Villa, he could get his moment to shine.
