Andrey Belousov, whom the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has proposed as defense minister to replace Sergei Shoigu, is yet another Kremlin puppet, according to the Defense Minister of the United Kingdom, Grant Shapps.

He said that Shoigu became responsible for the deaths of over 355,000 of his soldiers and the mass suffering of civilians as a result of the illegal campaign in Ukraine.

"Russia needs a Defence Minister who would undo that disastrous legacy & end the invasion - but all they’ll get is another of Putin’s puppets," the minister wrote.

Replacement of the Russian defense minister

On May 12, Putin proposed to appoint First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov as the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The consideration of Belousov's candidacy in the Federation Council is scheduled for May 13-14.

At the same time, Sergei Shoigu, who held the position of defense minister for over 10 years, was appointed by the dictator as the secretary of the Russian Security Council.
