Luton boss Rob Edwards genuinely blown away by something he witnessed the West Ham fans do

West Ham United beat Luton Town 3-1 at the London Stadium, and Rob Edwards was genuinely stunned by something he witnessed.

Rob Edwards took his Luton side to the East End of London knowing that nothing less than a win would do against West Ham.

The Hatters are in real danger of being relegated from the Premier League this season, with Nottingham Forest sitting three points ahead of them with a better goal difference, and with only one game remaining.

The Hammers went on to win the game 3-1, and proceeded to taunt the travelling Luton fans with chants of, ‘say hello to Millwall, say hello to Millwall, la la la la’.

The banter between the two sets of fans was all in good spirits though, as it should be.

And something specific that the home fans did really impressed Luton boss Edwards…

Luton boss Rob Edwards blown away by what West Ham fans did

The Luton manager and his team have been a real breath of fresh air in the Premier League this season.

His side have punched well above their weight, and it’s a huge shame that it looks like they will almost certainly get relegated now.

The Luton fans were proud of the effort shown by their team at the London Stadium, and rightly so.

However, Edwards chose to praise the West Ham fans after the game, as quoted by Luton Today:

“It was very, very touching the way the West Ham fans were with us afterwards walking off.”

The Hammers fans loudly applauded the Luton players as they exited the pitch.

It really was fabulous to see. The Hatters deserve all the credit they’ve been given this term.

It’s a shame that they’ll be heading back down to the Championship, and I really hope to see them back in the Premier League in 2025.

The West Ham fans let it be known just how much they admired the efforts from Luton, and Rob Edwards credited us for that.
