Serbia will improve relations with Ukraine and hold an economic forum between businessmen from the two countries soon, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

“A very good and constructive conversation with Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba,” the Serbian President wrote.

According to Vucic, they discussed and agreed to improve bilateral relations, with a special desire to organize an economic forum between businessmen of the two countries in the near future.

“The Serbian ambassador will soon return to his duties in Kyiv. We also talked about the European path of both countries and the urgent need to establish peace,” the Serbian President added.

Relations between Serbia and Ukraine

Serbia is not a member of the EU and therefore did not support sanctions against Russia. However, the country did not support the Kremlin's aggression against Ukraine.

At the same time, Serbia has provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. In late August of last year, it transferred 14 trucks with humanitarian aid to Ukraine for those affected by the breach of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by the Russian army.
