Kai Havertz has now done one thing for Arsenal that he needed 91 games to do at Chelsea

Kai Havertz has raced to one milestone in an Arsenal shirt far faster than he reached it in his time on the books at Chelsea.

Kai Havertz made another enormous contribution for Arsenal as they battled to a vital 1-0 win against Manchester United on Sunday.

It was not a vintage Arsenal display. Just one moment of clinical opportunism was enough to separate the two sides though, and keep the Gunners’ Premier League title challenge on track.

With 20 minutes on the clock, Havertz took advantage of being played onside by Casemiro to call for the ball whilst in acres in space in the final third. Ben White then picked out the German, who drove into the Red Devils’ penalty area before finding Leandro Trossard with a low cross. The Belgian was able to turn the ball into the back of the net from close range.

Trossard has been having a huge impact for Arsenal in recent weeks. However, Havertz’s contribution ought not be overlooked. The 24-year-old has now established himself as a key figure in the Gunners’ forward line and has cemented himself as Mikel Arteta’s first choice striker.

He has now racked up 12 goals and 7 assists in 36 Premier League appearances for the North London club. He has already produced greater consistency and efficiency for Arsenal than he ever managed for Chelsea.

As reported by Squawka, Havertz has now provided as many Premier League assists for Arsenal as he managed in 91 top flight outings for the Blues.

Not only has he been a creative force for the Gunners, but he has a habit of setting up his teammates against top opposition. Havertz has provided Premier League assists against Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Arsenal fans have been blown away by the form Havertz has produced in the second half of this season. He seems to have really settled in to life at the Emirates Stadium and looks comfortable and confident.

Jamie Carragher has credited Havertz with giving Arsenal “a great chance” of being crowned champions this season.

The 44-cap Germany international had plenty of detractors upon his arrival at Arsenal from Stamford Bridge. He looked like a player bereft of confidence at that time. However, he has grown into his role with the Gunners and is now justifying the faith Arteta invested in him.
