Former attorney Michael Cohen testified Monday that Donald Trump was more concerned about the campaign than his wife, Melania, after learning that adult film star Stormy Daniels was ready to go public about an alleged affair.

New York court correspondent Erik Uebelacker reported from the courthouse that Trump refused to open his eyes as Cohen testified about the hush money deal with Daniels.

"Here it is. Cohen says Trump was directly worried about his campaign when the Stormy Daniels story came out," Uebelacker wrote.

"Women are going to hate me," Cohen said, quoting Trump. "This is really a disaster. Women will hate me. Guys, they could think it’s cool. But this is going to be a disaster for the campaign."

Cohen went on to say that Trump was not concerned about his wife learning of the affair because she could easily be replaced.

"Trump joked that he wouldn't be 'on the market' for long if they divorced over the Stormy Daniels fallout," Uebelacker quoted Cohen.

"He wasn't thinking about Melania," the witness reportedly explained. "This was all about the campaign."

Trump's defenders have said that he was trying to protect his wife and family from embarrassment with the hush money payment to Daniels.
