Football: Machida on target again to snatch draw for Saint-Gilloise

Japan defender Koki Machida scored in the second straight game for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on Monday, helping his side secure a 2-2 draw away to Club Brugge in the Belgian top-flight playoff round.

After scoring the winner to secure Saint-Gilloise's first Belgian Cup title in 110 years on Thursday, Machida netted again as his header off a corner looped in with six minutes to go to complete the scoring at Jan Breydelstadion.

Henok Teklab scored early in the second half for the visitors before Andreas Skov Olsen hit a brace to give the home team a lead. The draw leaves Saint-Gilloise three points behind leaders Anderlecht and Club Brugge in the table with two games left.

Machida joins his Japan and former Kashima Antlers teammate Ayase Ueda in continuing a scoring run, with the forward finding the net for the third straight game in the Dutch Eredivisie during Feyenoord's 3-2 win at NEC Nijmegen on Sunday.

Ueda set up Yankuba Minteh as the visitors led 2-1 in the 57th minute before tapping in the winner in the 87th minute for his fifth goal of the season.

NEC's Japanese youngster Kodai Sano fired home from the edge of the box to level 1-1 two minutes after the break with his third goal this season, but they went a man down minutes later.
