Baseball: Yamasaki pitches Nippon Ham past Seibu

Nippon Ham Fighters left-hander Sachiya Yamasaki threw his second complete game of the season in a 4-1 win over the Seibu Lions on Tuesday.

The Fighters, managed by former MLB outfielder Tsuyoshi Shinjo, extended their winning streak to four games and cut SoftBank's Pacific League lead to 3.5 games as the Hawks lost to the Rakuten Eagles 4-1 the same day.

Yamasaki (4-1) scattered eight hits while walking one and striking out seven at Es Con Field Hokkaido.

Ariel Martinez had his second RBI triple in as many games and scored on a wild pitch from Seibu ace Kona Takahashi (0-4) in the third inning.
