Former Liverpool player who was inspired by Jurgen Klopp could replace Arne Slot at Feyenoord

A former Liverpool player who has been inspired by Jurgen Klopp could reportedly be replacing Arne Slot at Feyenoord.

It seems like Arne Slot looks destined to become Liverpool’s next manager. The Dutchman will replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield after the German has spent nine years at the club.

Along with him, Slot will bring his own team from Feyenoord, including his assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff in what is going to be a big summer of change at the club this summer.

Interestingly, Feyenoord have lined-up a former Klopp and Liverpool player to replace Slot at the club in what could be a very fascinating move.

Nuri Sahin to replace Arne Slot at Feyenoord

According to 1908.NL Feyenoord are considering a move for Nuri Sahin to replace the departing Arne Slot at the club.

Sahin is currently the assistant manager of Borussia Dortmund. But he has also previously managed top flight Turkish side Antalyaspor for almost two years.

At 35-years-old, he is a very young coach, but he’s got an impressive resume and he’s also worked with a lot of top managers.

Not to mention Sahin will also be familiar with Feyenoord, where he spent an entire season on loan back in the 2007/08 campaign.

Nuri Sahin’s connection to Liverpool and Klopp

In the past, Sahin has spoken about how Klopp has inspired him in his managerial journey. As a player, Sahin played his best years of football under the Liverpool manager’s reign.

Infamously, he also had a very brief stint at Liverpool, where he just couldn’t fight himself into Brendan Rodgers’ reckoning while on loan from Real Madrid.

It will be interesting to see whether Sahin is appointed as Slot’s successor. He is definitely a very bright young coach and someone to keep an eye on.
