Ukrainian border guards together with the Defense Forces destroyed a group of Russian occupants in the Kharkiv region who were trying to attack in the Vovchansk direction, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"Having found the target, the soldiers eliminated the enemy infantry group with mortars. As a result, three Russian invaders were eliminated," the statement says.
Russian invaders were moving along a residential area in the countryside, where they came into sight of Ukrainian defenders.
Russian offensive in Kharkiv region
Last week, the Russian Armed Forces launched an offensive in the north of Kharkiv region. They managed to occupy several settlements along the front line.
In particular, active fighting is currently taking place on the northern outskirts of the city of Vovchansk.
According to NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Lytvynenko, more than 30,000 Russian invaders are involved in the offensive against the Kharkiv region.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the situation in the Kharkiv sector is difficult, but it is changing rapidly.
At the same time, according to the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, the active phase of the Russian border operation is currently underway in the Kharkiv region. However, the Defense Forces have already blocked the enemy.
