‘I would like to’… ‘Incredible’ Liverpool player says he wants to leave the club this summer

One Liverpool player has admitted he would like to leave the club when the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season.

This summer is going to be a time of change for Liverpool. It’s going to be a summer where Liverpool are going to be going through one of the club’s biggest transformations in a decade.

It won’t just be Jurgen Klopp departing for pastures new, but his entire coaching staff. On top of that, there will be a change in the boardroom as well, with Michael Edwards returning to FSG to work alongside the club’s new sporting director Richard Hughes.

Naturally, those changes will lead to players moving on from the club as well. Including a veteran.

Adrian on his Liverpool future this summer

Adrian has been at Liverpool for some time now. He’s been a solid third choice goalkeeper. He’s even been hailed by Klopp as ‘incredible’ in the past.

However, his contract runs out at the end of the season and it seems like he might be wanting to move on from the club.

Speaking to Mucho Deporte in Spain Adrian has admitted he is looking to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I would like to return to La Liga after 11 seasons in the Premier,” Adrian said.

“It would be closing a cycle. I am still ready to compete. I feel very good despite being 37. You already know that goalkeepers, if you take good care of yourself, have not had very serious injuries. serious lately and in the end you are fine, daily training gives you that intensity that in the end makes you compete.

“I think Adrián is left for a while and it is true that I would like to return to the Spanish La Liga. It has to be a nice project, interesting…

“I haven’t sat down with Liverpool yet either. I don’t rule out that we could have a pending conversation, but it is true that we will be looking out of the corner of our eye to see what happens in the La Liga goals.”

Liverpool already lining up Adrian’s replacement?

According to the latest reports, Michael Edwards may already have a solution in terms of who he wants to replace Adrian in the Liverpool squad with.

Alex McCarthy is on the club’s radar, and the veteran goalkeeper could be a sensible solution. McCarthy has years of experience playing in the Premier League.

On top of that, unlike Adrian, he would be considered as a homegrown player for Liverpool, which means he would not take up one of those precious non-homegrown spots in the squad.
