Macron confirms participation in Peace Summit to Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. One of the topics of discussion was France's participation in the Peace Summit, according to the President.

"I spoke with Emmanuel Macron and thanked him for confirming his attendance at the Peace Summit. I appreciate France’s important role in implementing the Peace Formula, particularly the nuclear safety point," Zelenskyy said.

He said that he had discussed with Macron the importance of encouraging countries from the Global South to attend the summit.

They also discussed the situation at the frontline, particularly in the Kharkiv region.

"We paid close attention to Ukraine's defense needs, particularly additional air defense, artillery, long-range capabilities, and ammunition," Zelenskyy emphasized.

According to the President of Ukraine, he thanked his French colleague for significant defense assistance and invited him to visit Kyiv in the near future.

Peace Summit

Ukraine expects more than 150 countries to participate in the Peace Summit - they have already been invited to the event. The leaders will meet on June 15-16 in Switzerland.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, Polish President Andrzej Duda, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez have confirmed their participation.
