Ukraine has decided not to invite Russia to the first Global Peace Summit, which will take place in Switzerland on June 15-16.

What Ukraine says about Russia's participation
Ukrainian officials have repeatedly stated that Russia is not invited to the first meeting regarding the Ukrainian peace formula at the leaders' level (Peace Summit). According to them, it is necessary to "prepare the ground" for this.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, without providing details, that a document is planned to be prepared at the first Peace Summit, which they want to present to the Russian side.
At the same time, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, clarified that the document would envisage the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
What could happen next
It's important to note that Russia's participation in such summits organized by Ukraine is not completely ruled out.
Yermak has indicated that at the second Peace Summit, they could present a final plan for achieving peace. In that case, representatives of Russia would be invited to the event.
This will happen if the person representing Russia during the second summit wants to establish a fair peace and end the war.
Between the first and second Peace Summits, conferences on the points of the peace formula are planned. The results of these conferences will be used to draft a plan for achieving peace.
It is worth noting that a number of countries, including Switzerland, insist on Russia's participation. In particular, the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a peace process without Russia's involvement is "unthinkable."
Additionally, Chinese leader Xi Jinping has stated that both Ukraine and Russia should "participate on an equal footing" in efforts to establish peace between the two countries.
Russia's reaction
Representatives of Russia, in turn, have repeatedly stated that their country will not participate in any summit organized by Ukraine.
In particular, the Russian ambassador to Switzerland, Sergey Garmonin, noted that Russia "will not participate in any format" of such a meeting.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country, Sergey Lavrov, complained that the peace summit boils down to forming an ultimatum for Russia.
Despite this, the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, suggested that Russia's participation in the peace summit could be in a secretive format.
Ukraine plans to discuss three topics at the first peace summit. One of them concerns energy and nuclear security.
Overall, invitations for discussion were sent to over 150 countries.
