Ukraine has begun negotiations with Luxembourg on the conclusion of a security guarantee agreement, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
It is noted that the start of work on the document was agreed upon by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Luc Frieden, during a phone call the day before.
The Ukrainian negotiating delegation is headed by the head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, but today's round of negotiations was conducted by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva.

"We are grateful to Luxembourg for its consistent support and leadership, especially on such issues as co-chairing the IT coalition, military assistance, and support for Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO. I am convinced that all of this will be reflected in our security agreement," Zhovkva noted.
During the talks, the parties thoroughly worked through the draft agreement text, discussed the content of individual provisions, and agreed on further steps.
Security Guarantees for Ukraine
A number of Western countries have already signed security agreements with Ukraine, with Britain being the first. This process began after the NATO summit in Vilnius.
Reuters previously reported that the European Union has already developed a bilateral security guarantee agreement that could be signed with Ukraine this summer.
