Kai Havertz claims he always rejects one weekly request from Arsenal teammate Ben White

Kai Havertz has now opened up about why he has repeatedly rejected social invitations from Arsenal teammate Ben White.

Kai Havertz has now settled into life at Arsenal and seems to be enjoying his role as a member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

The German’s recent form certainly suggests that he is comfortable at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal fans have been impressed by the performances Havertz has produced in the second half of the season.

Ben White is another player who has shone for the Gunners since the turn of the year. The right-back has been supremely consistent, is defensively solid, and has been integral to the team’s attacking build-up play on the right flank.

Gary Neville recently heaped praise on White, comparing him to two Chelsea legends.

Kai Havertz repeatedly refuses request of Arsenal colleague Ben White

There was plenty of pressure on the 26-year-old when he first arrived in North London, largely due to his £50 million price. He joined from Brighton in the summer of 2021. However, White recently revealed that it took him a year to feel settled at Arsenal.

He is now an established fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium, and has clearly taken it upon himself to help others feel at home at the club, including Havertz.

Speaking to Sky Sports, and discussing his preferred food options, Havertz was asked if he likes roast dinners. The 25-year-old then revealed: “No, it’s not my thing. Ben always tries to invite me to his place on Sundays and says ‘I’m cooking Sunday roast,’ but I’m not going to come.”

Whilst White and Havertz clearly enjoy a friendly relationship, that bond is apparently not strong enough to overcome the Germany international’s aversion to roast dinners.

Arsenal feel benefits of squad unity

The fact that members of the Arsenal squad are generally open to considering socialising and dining together beyond the confines of their shared workplace is certainly a positive sign. Arteta will greatly appreciate the importance of squad harmony.

Reiss Nelson has hailed the positive atmosphere at Arsenal that Arteta has engineered. Undoubtedly, that sense of unity within the squad has helped Arsenal to reach the heights that they have reached on the pitch this season.

Arsenal will still be in the title race on the final day of the season. If the Gunners are crowned champions then there will, of course, be enormous celebrations in North London. Roast dinners are seemingly unlikely to be on the menu, though.
