One of Donald Trump's former lawyers attacked another former lawyer, Michael Cohen, as unreliable and consumed with hatred for the former president.
Trump isn't allowed to comment on his longtime fixer as he testifies in his hush money trial, but William J. Brennan Jr., who represented his payroll corporation in a tax fraud trial and Trump himself in his second impeachment trial, told CNN that he would go after Cohen hard in cross-examination.
"The problem is that his moral compass doesn't tend to True North," Brennan said. "I think what this guy, if it was me, it would be the old Mike Tyson [quote] – everybody's got a plan until they get punched in the face. I think he just narrow whacking with the worst thing you come up with, try to jolt him, and then kind of spend the next day and a half or two days just methodically going through all the lies and the lies upon lies."

Brennan compared Cohen to former White House counsel John Dean, who testified before Congress about his role in the coverup of the Watergate scandal that brought down president Richard Nixon.
"I mean, unlike Mr. Dean, who we spoke about earlier, he had some exposure criminally, never pled guilty to perjury, never lied that we know of, and it was limited to his role in the White House," Brennan said. "That's how Cohen's trying to sell it here. This guy is in the Hall of Fame for liars. If there was an Olympics of liars, he'd be on the top of the stand with a gold medal."
