Rangers fans all saying the same thing as Philippe Clement names Dundee line-up

And now, the end is near, and so we’ve reached the final game at Ibrox as Rangers take on Dundee.

A hostile crowd could wait for a fixture where tickets weren’t exactly difficult to get as Philippe Clement looks to salvage something from the season aside from the Viaplay Cup success.

With a huge injury list, the line-up was an unfamiliar one with Rangers fans all saying the same thing ahead of what could be a difficult night.

Fans react as Philippe Clement names unfamiliar Rangers XI

The manager has grown increasingly frustrated in recent weeks dealing with a squad with as much resilience as a digestive biscuit that has been submerged for more than a few seconds.

The usual visitors to the treatment room have been joined by players who have been regular fixtures this season which leaves a team looking like something out of a pre-season friendly.

Ironically though, it is as young and as energetic a selection as Rangers fans will have seen all season.

Leon King returns for his first start this season and the 20-year old must be thinking about going out on loan if Philippe Clement brings in more central defenders.

Nicolas Raskin also has a chance to impress and prove to the gaffer that he can be trusted to marshal the midfield.

It is the engine room where fans are united in their praise of the selection, even if it has come a little too late.

Rangers need to provide fans with glimmer of hope

Three points at this stage of the season isn’t all that matters and the fans, who continue to dig deep to support their club, deserve a performance.

It might be too little, too late, but the players need to show that there is still hope and those that will be here next season can make a difference.

It is a real chance over the next couple of games for players like Raskin and Ross McCausland to push for a starting place in the Scottish Cup final given the uncertainty over the players who had been in their positions.
