Alina Habba, Donald Trump's attorney, may have violated a judge's limited gag order preventing her client and his attorneys from speaking about witnesses in a hush money trial.
During an interview on Fox News, Habba brought up witness Michael Cohen without prompting by the hosts.
"The indictment [of Trump] goes to a books and records crime, a book and record crime that was done at Trump Tower by an accountant that booked a legal fee as a legal fee," Habba said of the charges against Trump. "As President Trump said earlier, he didn't book it as construction, he didn't book it as electrical work."
"It was a legal fee to Michael Cohen," she remarked.

Fox News host Sandra Smith asked Habba how she would cross-examine Cohen.
"So Alina, how would you go at Michael Cohen here?" Smith wondered.
"The way I did," Habba answered, referring to an earlier fraud case.
"You know, I can't speak about the witness," the attorney said.
New York Justice Juan Merchan ruled earlier in Trump's hush money trial that the defendant and his attorneys could not discuss potential witnesses or court staff and their families. An appeals court upheld the gag order on Tuesday.
Trump is facing 34 charges of business fraud involving hush money payments allegedly paid to an adult movie star to hide a sexual relationship she had with Trump.
Though Habba is not an active lawyer in the trial, she still has a role as Trump's spokeswoman.
