TalkSPORT pundit posts tongue-in-cheek 3-word reaction to Aston Villa's comeback v Liverpool last night

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara posted a tongue-in-cheek reaction to Aston Villa’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool.

Unai Emery‘s side were 3-1 down with just five minutes left before Jhon Duran made a two-goal cameo off the bench to rescue a draw in dramatic fashion.

Villa needed a win to secure Champions League football at the expense of Tottenham, but a point leaves them firmly in pole position to secure fourth spot.

Spurs face Manchester City on Tuesday night, with anything but a win for Ange Postecoglou’s side meaning Villa will finish fourth.

Jamie O’Hara responds to Aston Villa comeback

O’Hara came through the ranks at Tottenham and supports the North London club.

The footballer-turned-pundit is a divisive figure with some of his comments deemed nonsense by supporters, but he always gets fans talking with his views on TalkSPORT.

In the immediate aftermath of Duran’s two-goal heroics, O’Hara took to ‘X’ to post: “Up the Villa”.

The comment may have come as a surprise to many, but if you delve a little deeper you can see why O’Hara was so happy Villa rescued a point.

O’Hara’s ulterior motive with Villa post

Tottenham’s fierce rivals Arsenal are firmly in the title race having crumbled at the business end of the season last time around.

The Gunners are one point ahead of City but have just one game left to play compared to their title rival’s two.

Mikel Arteta’s side will become favourites to win their first Premier League title since 2003 if Tottenham beat City at home on Tuesday night.

It appears O’Hara’s social media post was in reference to Spurs having less motivation to beat Pep Guardiola’s side on Tuesday night in the knowledge that Villa’s point means their chances of sneaking into the top four are now incredibly slim.

With Tottenham potentially less motivated, this makes a City win more likely and this in turn means the Manchester side are favourites to wrap up the Premier League title ahead of Tottenham’s rivals on the final day.

Whether O’Hara’s feelings reflect the views of the wider fanbase is unclear, but it is a perspective that will certainly get fans talking.

Should a fan ever want their team to lose a game, especially when that ends their hopes of Champions League football, just to decrease their rival’s chances of winning a title?
