France is preparing new military assistance for Ukraine, involving missiles for the SAMP/T air defense system, states Sébastien Lecornu, French Minister of Armed Forces.

It is noted that France is sending Ukraine a new batch of Aster 30 surface-to-air missiles for previously supplied SAMP/T complexes.

Lecornu announced this during parliamentary hearings, stating that he has just signed the contract for the second batch of Aster missiles.

This will enable the SAMP/T system, which France transferred together with Italy, to continue operating and destroying Russian missiles.

Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense systems

Russian forces are launching missile strikes on various cities in Ukraine. Patriot and SAMP/T systems are capable of intercepting ballistic targets.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems like Patriot and SAMP/T to defend against Russian aggression.
