As early-season start times roll out this week, Notre Dame knows when two of its first three games will kick off.

Earlier Tuesday morning, the teams and networks involved announced that the Irish’s trip to Texas A&M will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast on ABC. And Tuesday afternoon, Notre Dame announced that its trip to Purdue will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast on CBS.

It will be Notre Dame’s first game against Purdue since Sept. 18, 2021, when the Irish beat the Boilermakers 27-13 in South Bend. Their last trip to West Lafayette, Ind. came in 2013, when the Irish won 31-24 (although the win was later vacated).

Notre Dame has faced Purdue 87 times, beginning in 1896. The Boilermakers are the third-most prevalent opponent in Fighting Irish football history, behind only Navy (96 meetings) and USC (94). The Irish lead the all-time series 59-26-2 and have won the last eight matchups.

The last time Notre Dame played on CBS, the Irish lost 23-17 to Georgia on Sept. 21, 2019, although the Irish are 34-16 all-time on the network. 2024 is CBS’ first year with rights to Big Ten Football, ending 27 years as the marquee home of the Southeastern Conference.
