Man in interracial relationships shares the wonders of the ‘Black Wife Effect’

A white man in an interracial relationship with a Black woman has said the “Black wife effect” should be studied in universities after looking back on his transformation over the years.

TikTok is a great place to find dating trends that you can then apply to your own relationship, as seen recently when dating expert James Preece commented on the rise of the Soft Guy Era.

What is the Black Wife effect?

Content creator Kolter Bouchard (@koltertalks) took to TikTok earlier this week with a public service announcement for his 650k followers. Since posting, his clip has accumulated 4.3 million views and just over 700k likes. In his video, Kolter spoke about his experiences with the Black Wife Effect and how it should be studied in higher education to grasp the concept fully.

“I don’t believe in much, but I believe in the Black Wife Effect, and soon, you will too,” he told his followers.

Kolter shared a throwback picture of himself where he claimed to look like an anemic Machine Gun Kelly, dubbing himself “Water Gun Kelly.” He also said he looked like a little boy and an old woman at the same time.

The influencer then sped through time to show an updated picture of himself alongside his wife. Admittedly, there was a notable glow-up.

He continued: “You can’t tell me that’s not an improvement. Do you see this? Call me a leaky ceiling because I got the drip. This one’s just a thirst trap. The Black Wife effect, give it a Pulitzer.”

Besides the obvious physical changes, Kolter’s style had changed considerably as well as he now sported preppy blazers and dashing suits.

It’s a common effect, according to TikTok

Lots of Kolter’s social media followers also reported similar experiences with the Black Wife Effect,

One person wrote: “My dad is living proof of the black wife effect. He used to look like an older version of Opie from Andy Griffith and now he looks like George Clooney.”

“Every time you show up on my FYP it’s you praising your wide and I love that so much for y’all,” another person said, as a third added, “U sound like my man right now. Even his co-workers noticed the change in him… they all know me, I used to work there but YES!!! Black wife affect.”
