'He's kicking off': Pundit says £35m Man City player was not happy after what Pep Guardiola did tonight

Jason Cundy said that one Manchester City player was absolutely fuming after being taken off in tonight’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues secured a vital 2-0 victory against Spurs that took them two points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of the final day of the season.

Erling Haaland scored both of City’s goals on the night, but before the final whistle blew, one figure in the starting XI seemed to be less than pleased that he was taken off in the second half.

In fact, one pundit shared what exactly he saw from the player in question and what he did

In the second half of the game, when the score was 1-0, Spurs centre-half Cristian Romero dived in to reach a cross and ended up colliding with Ederson in a challenge that looked to have knocked the City goalkeeper unconscious for a short time.

After getting some treatment from the medical staff, the 30-year-old carried on playing for a little while when the match resumed before he was then substituted for Stefan Ortega in the 69th minute.

Speaking in a recent watch-along livestream on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Cundy had this to say about what Ederson did after he was substituted off in the second half against Spurs after his collision with Romero.

He said: “Are we looking at him being frustrated with Pep?

“He’s muttering. He’s not happy. He’s kicking off with someone. He’s just booted one of those Gatorade’s.”

Ederson showed his elite mentality after Spurs knock

Ederson has started 33 games for City in this Premier League campaign including the recent game against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

In his first 32 games of the season, the Brazilian has had to deal with 80 shots on target, making 54 saves in the process, giving him a save percentage of 70%.

This showcases just how vital the shot-stopper, who the Manchester club paid £35m to sign back in 2017, is for City and why they need him on the pitch.

In our view, while the Brazil international showed his elite mentality by wanting to stay on the pitch and carry on helping his team, the severity when it comes to concussions made it the right decision to take him off and put Ortega on for the final period of the game.
