David Moyes says West Ham could have a David Silva regen on our hands

West Ham United manager David Moyes has given the ultimate compliment to talented youngster George Earthy.

George Earthy announced himself to the Premier League with a finely taken goal for West Ham against Luton, after David Moyes brought him on in the second-half.

Mark Noble has already opened up on the 19-year-old’s determination and drive to reach the top, and it really does seem like we have a top player on our hands.

Earthy genuinely could end up saving incoming West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui tens of millions in the transfer market.

The talented Hammers teenager seems to have absolutely everything needed to become a Premier League star at the London Stadium.

All expect one specific thing it seems…

David Moyes shares how George Earthy could be new David Silva

The Scot has been involved in football management for more than two decades now, so you would like to think that he has a good eye for genuine talent.

Earthy undoubtedly is one of the most exciting youngsters to have come through the ranks at West Ham over the past few years.

But what does he have to do to ensure that he makes it at the very highest level?

Moyes has lifted the lid on what he thinks Earthy needs to do…

The Scot spoke to reporters about the 19-year-old’s recent rise to prominence, as quoted by Yahoo:

“George is a really, really talented player,” said Moyes. “What George will need to do is build up and improve his strength and his power.”

“His football ability is not in question one bit, but it will be more about how he can handle and come into the Premier League.

Moyes went on to say, “You think of the likes of David Silva, players like that who might have been slight in stature but they still found a way.”

“George’s challenge now will be to find a way of developing that to the point where he can become an established Premier League player.”

Now, the fact that George Earthy is even being mentioned in the same breath as David Silva by David Moyes is a huge compliment to him.

The Spaniard is one of the all-time Premier League greats, and bagged 77 goals and 130 assists in 436 games for Manchester City (Transfermarkt).

If Earthy can go on to be even half as good as Silva, he’ll be a top Premier League player. I cannot wait to witness the West Ham teenager’s development first-hand over the next few years.
