Report: Crysencio Summerville’s stance on an Elland Road exit this summer if Leeds United do not get promoted

Crysencio Summerville is already among the Leeds United players attracting interest ahead of the summer.

Summerville has enjoyed a superb campaign at Elland Road having been crowned the Championship’s POTS with 19 goals and nine assists to his name.

Given his age and the quality of his performances this season, several big clubs have already began circling ahead of the summer, which will bring him to the final two years of his deal.

Treble-chasing Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are among those keen, while Arne Slot has also been linked ahead of taking over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Summerville still has a big job on his hands attempting to help take Leeds back to the Premier League but the summer is undoubtedly going to be a busy one for him regardless of what happens.

Summerville’s stance on Elland Road exit if Leeds don’t win play-offs

Failure to win promotion this season would undoubtedly lead to the sales of some key players this summer, something which 49ers Enterprises have already acknowledged.

With parachute payments reducing from 55 per cent to 45 per cent in the second season after relegation, Leeds would need to raise funds in order to comply with the EFL’s PSR rules.

Unfortunately, Summerville is among those in the Leeds squad who would attract a larger fee and so the money they could receive could be difficult to turn down.

According to Team Talk, Leeds value Summerville at between £30 – £40 million and would try hold out for that figure even if they remain in the Championship.

However, as per the same report, Summerville would not look to force through an Elland Road exit this summer due to how happy he currently is at the club.

Of course, that does not rule out him leaving in any way amid the club’s need to sell if Leeds aren’t promoted, but he will ‘not look to rock the boat’ by pushing to leave.

Summerville would deserve Leeds exit if not promoted

Having watched so many of his teammates from last season force through exits in the summer, it would have been easy for Summerville to do the same.

He has attracted plenty of interest over the last 12 months including from European sides such as Newcastle United and Aston Villa, but has still continued to perform at Leeds.

There have beenquestion marks over his body language in recent weeks but ultimately it has been a frustrating time for him and the whole squad lately. Nothing should be read into that.

After how he has conducted himself this season, no one should begrudge him of a big move this summer if Leeds do not get promoted. He has done all he can to help the club get back up.
